Hands-On Ubud Cooking Class with Individual Recipes

Experience the authentic flavors and traditions of Bali with a hands-on Ubud cooking class where every participant prepares their own dishes individually from start to finish. Unlike cooking classes where recipes are prepared in groups, our Balinese cooking class gives you the opportunity to personally prepare each dish—from selecting and understanding fresh ingredients to chopping, slicing, grinding, mixing, and cooking. By the end of the class, you’ll have the practical skills and confidence to recreate the delicious flavors of Balinese cuisine at home.

Spend two joyful hours in our traditional Balinese kitchen and discover the secrets behind authentic Balinese food and cooking. Learn how to use the traditional Balinese stone pestle and mortar to grind and blend aromatic herbs and spices for fiery sambals and the essential Bumbu Bali, the flavorful spice paste at the heart of many traditional Balinese dishes. You’ll also discover the unique flavors, aromas, and uses of local herbs and spices while learning traditional cooking techniques under the guidance of our experienced chef. No previous cooking experience is required—just bring your enthusiasm and enjoy an immersive Ubud cultural experience.

After preparing your dishes, sit back, relax, and enjoy the meal you have cooked yourself at Pesantian Warung, surrounded by stunning 180° views of lush Balinese rice terraces. More than simply a cooking lesson, this is an opportunity to experience Bali through its fresh ingredients, traditional recipes, cooking techniques, local culture, and people.
