Cooking Class Menu

On hand cooking class and individual recipes. You will learn the cooking process from the beginning, starting from ingredient preparation until the cooking finish.

For two joyful hours in the traditional kitchen, you will learn to master the Balinese stone pestle and mortar as you grind and blend spices for fiery sambals or create the traditional all important Bumbu Bali. Get to know native herbs and spices, dice, slice and grind to discover the secret of Balinese cooking and take these new skills home.

Afterwards, in our Pesantian Warung with stunning 180′ rice terrace views, enjoy a delicious lunch that you have cleverly made yourself!

Balinese Minced Pork Satays

This Balinese recipe involves mixing a spicy paste with pork mince and then moulding it around sugarcane sticks.

They are then placed in a frying pan or on a grill and cooked until brown. For this recipe you will need about 36 skewers.

Balinese Vegetables Salad

This salad is usually made with a green vegetable and grated coconut, but feel free to add other veggies like carrot, a couple of handfuls of shredded cabbage, handfuls of bean sprouts, capsicum or something else with crunch. Don’t be too exact or precious. Play around with the combinations and the flavours.

Balinese Pancake

Jaja Laklak is a traditional Balinese cake made out of rice flour. This sweet cake has a round and flat shape with a diameter of 3 to 6 centimetres and the thickness is approximately 5 to 7 millimetres. In general, this traditional cake comes in two colors, white and light green.
